To make a sharpened pencil softer and simpler to apply, you can draw some lines first on the back of your hand. This could melt the tip and get the color flowing. Kohl can be applied in the same way with marvelous effect.
Using either a sponge-tipped applicator, eyeshadow brush, or perhaps your fingertip, mix the color by smudging it to make a hazy effect. For an even stronger, more intense effect, apply your chosen color round the eyes in either cream, liquid or powder form.
